Migrating Computus.lat to my personal website

Almost a year after reviving Computus.lat, increasing costs for webhosting are forcing me to make a hard decision. Unfortunately, I will have to take Computus.lat offline by the end of 2023.

It was already quite expensive to maintain Computus.lat on an annual basis. At the increased rates, the platform cannot be sustained financially for any longer.

However, this does not mean that the platform will disappear entirely, for I will migrate major parts of it to my personal website.

Datasets

To accomodate users of the platform, I will publish open source datasets, including the full list of manuscripts containing computistical and calendrical material.

Resources

Also, I am looking into republishing the catalogue in a simplified form. Once Computus.lat is offline, I will redirect the domain to this website.

Furthermore, resources such as easy access to Borst’s Schriften and Reichskalender are in the works.

Loss of funcionality

A loss of functionality is, unfortunately, unavoidable. The biggest loss will most definately be the object-oriented catalogue.
